**This is a temporary position and will run through June 30,2019. Hours and Days are flexible upon agreement prior to employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION: As an Intern in the Office of Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Department. Works with the HR Administrators and the HR Analysts in support of all HR functions, projects, district initiatives, HR projects and HR goals.

Also required is the ability to multitask and handle several projects at any given time in collaboration with various departments.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Sr. Administrator of Human Resources. In addition, the Intern assists in providing information and assistance as needed to support decision making and District efficiencies. The Office of Human Resources is a fast-paced, confidential environment that is a great opportunity for candidates aspiring to be administrators and managers.

STATEMENT OF
DUTIES:

Updates education levels from original transcripts into MUNIS system

Functions include, mailing, filing and scanning for new hires, transfers, changes, salary changes, resignations and retirements

Contacts employees to report for hiring sessions, meets with them to verify accuracy and completion of paperwork and processes relevant documentation

Answers questions and distributes forms to the appropriate departments such as payroll, benefits and retirement

Performs administrative duties which includes answering phone, performing word processing, operating office machines and technology and organizing and maintaining files

Access or exposure to confidential information

Performing any other duties as assigned by the Sr. Administrator of Human Resources or his/her designee relative to the most efficient operation of the Human Resources Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Progress towards a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or University with major in Human Resources, Administration or similar field of study is required.

Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally, in writing and through presentations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Ability to use other Microsoft Applications such as Access and PowerPoint.

Ability to be a team player and work well with others.

Ability to deploy strong organization skills in order to meet deadlines, perform detail-oriented tasks and balance a variety of responsibilities.

Ability to work independently; be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
