    Hiring Pay Range: $13.12 - $13.92/ hr, DOE
    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    10 months / 188 paid workdays per year, Benefits Eligible
    Location: Valley View Early Learning Center

    Target Start Date: August 7, 2019

    Definition:
    Under immediate supervision of certified teaching staff, subject specialists or Program Director of the school and/or physical therapist. Performs work of moderate difficulty assisting in the structured education of students with and without special needs within a regular classroom setting.
    Essential Functions:

    Tasks:
    Work individually with students with or without special needs and support educational progress of the student's in the Spanish Immersion Program. Conduct parallel teaching/tutoring. Work with small groups of students. Maintain behavior reinforcement programs for positive and negative behavior. Provide physical support and assistance as needed.
    May need to assist with personal, physical and custodial needs of the student. Assist student in developing fine and gross motor skills, balance and interpreting directions.
    Teach life skills. Monitor and document student activities and progress for teacher and parental review. Assist teachers in carrying out education program. Interact with children to encourage positive self-concept and enthusiasm for the discovery process. Prepare classroom and playground as needed. Attend weekly staff meetings. Adhere to the goals, policies and procedures of the program. Will be expected to assist teachers inside and outside the classroom.
    Desired Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:
    Knowledge of CFSD and school policies and procedures.
    Knowledge of universal precautions required when exposed to blood, mucus, saliva, urine, and bowel movements.
    Knowledge of proper emergency medical care and CPR.
    Knowledge of basic behavioral modification and motivation techniques and practices.
    Knowledge of available methods to modify classroom assignments.
    Skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, administrators,
    students and parents.
    Must be able/willing to interact with young children ages 3-5 in an appropriate manner as defined by Early Learning Standards.
    Minimum Required Qualifications:
    Associates degree preferred and six months of working with special needs children.
    Special Requirements :
    CPR certificate and First Aide certificate are required within one (1) year of hire.
