Teachers whose assignments are within this hub will receive priority consideration for this position.
Teach a classroom of newly-arrived (newcomer/refugee) English-Learner students. Within the context of English Language Development (ELD):
Follow and use grade and subject matter appropriate curriculum
Exhibit and utilize effective classroom management techniques
Use culturally relevant pedagogy
Design and implement differentiated instruction and assessments for various skill levels and learning types
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSCLAD/BCLAD
Valid teaching credential
Training and experience in the specific programs are required
Must be proficient in standards-based instruction and assessment
Demonstrate ability to motivate at-risk youth
Per OEA contract Article 23.3.3.3, unit members will not be selected for more than two consecutive years. Should no qualified applicants apply, unit members may serve for more than two consecutive years.
Primary Location: Summer Programs
Salary Range: Prorata per BU salary schedule
