The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has a vacancy for a Director of Grants for the District.

Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree required
  • Grant writing experience required
  • Experience coordinating community resources to support schools
  • NYS School District Leader certification required
  • Team orientated
  • Ability to coordinate overlapping projects & deadlines required
  • Effective time management; ability to meet deadlines
  • Grant experience with early literacy focus preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple stakeholder groups


Job Goal:

Primary :

To improve educational opportunities for students by procuring additional funding through external sources.

Secondary:

To improve educational opportunities for students by coordinating and aligning community resources and partnerships to engage students and families in the educational system.

Overview
The Newburgh Enlarged City School district is located at \"The Crossroads of the Northeast,\" an area on the west bank of the Hudson River 60 miles north of New York City and 80 miles south of Albany.

Our district central office and the Board of Education are located at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550.

The school district serves students from four neighboring municipalities: the City of Newburgh, the Town of Newburgh, New Windsor, and a small portion of Cornwall. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh. The remaining schools are spread throughout the other municipalities.

The district currently consists of seven K-5 elementary schools, two K-8 schools, two middle schools (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12 over 3 campuses)

In the 2015-2016 school year, the district had a total enrollment of 10,831 students in grades K-12. Ethnic breakdown of our students is as follows (again for the '15-'16 school year):

Average class size is 23 students and 14% of students were English Language Learners.
