Content Manager , Marketing & Communications

Who You Are...

You will play a pivotal role in building compelling content across multiple channels to reach and influence educators in the K-12 market , including management of the NWEA corporate blog. You possess exceptional writing and editorial skills as well as a customer-centric mindset.

You are organized, efficient, and collaborative while working with writers, designers, and subject matter experts inside and outside of the organization to produce content in multiple formats across the NWEA portfolio of products and services. You are an experienced professional with demonstrable creative writing skills and should perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented.

You will be supported by a talented team of writers, designers, marketers, and web and marketing operations professionals. Your k ey responsibilities include managing production and curation of content for the NWEA web and social properties; collaborating with other content producers throughout the organization, and vividly bringing the NWEA story to life. This position reports to the Sr . Manager for Content Strategy .

Your Next Challenge...

  • Execute content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop site content for NWEA web properties
  • Manage the NWEA corporate blog, including editorial planning, sourcing and managing contributors, and working with vendors.
  • Manage department editorial calendar in partnership with Sr. Manager of Content Strategy
  • Maintain or develop systems to track interviews, permission/releases, and content production and distribution.
  • Edit, proofread and improve writers' posts and work with internal and external content writers to ensure brand consistency
  • Manage outside vendors, freelancers, and production providers to achieve production goals and budgetary objectives
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and usability.
  • Optimize content according to SEO

  • Self-starter with ability to work smartly and independently when required, completely owning high-profile, high visibility multimedia projects
  • Demonstrable understanding of how to create content that draws an audience; knowledge of digital best practices: how to craft shareable, compelling SEO-friendly content and headlines
  • Familiarity with WordPress , Kapost , Marketo , Sprout Social other web publishing processes

Your Education and E xperience ...

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications , English , Journalism or related field is strongly preferred .
  • 5+ years online creative development and execution experience
  • K-12 education industry and education marketing experience a plus
  • Familiarity with modern marketing tech stack a plus

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Regular full-time employees are eligible to accrue 4 weeks paid time off during the first year of employment, 5 weeks after the first year, and 6 weeks after the second year and all years thereafter. Additionally, employees receive 9 paid holidays per year.

Benefit Pay
Eligible employees receive an additional $400 ($200 for part-time employees) per month (reported and taxed as salary), which is used to offset premium costs or items not currently covered.

Group and Supplemental Retirement Plans
NWEA contributes 15% of eligible employee's base salary to a defined-contribution 403(b) retirement saving plans. Additionally, eligible employees are auto-enrolled at 3% with the option to opt-out or change the election amount up to the federal maximum per year to a 403(b) retirement saving plans.

Section 125 Flexible Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) Accounts
Eligible employees may set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses or dependent/elder care-as well as parking/transit expenses.

Life insurance and AD&D insurance
Employees receive policies equal to 1 times annual salary for life and AD&D insurance. These premiums are 100% employer-paid.

Career Development & Education Program
NWEA will reimburse up to $1,500 per fiscal year for full-time employees and up to $750 for part-time employees. College coursework, certifications, and tests from appropriate institutions or organizations qualify under this program.
