QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with an endorsement as a school psychologist OR candidates may hold licensure issued by the Wyoming Board of Psychology. Other desired qualifications include: Master's degree, experience working with school-age students; ability to work with students who may demonstrate a variety of emotional problems; experience working with at-risk students and children with disabilities; ability to help build an effective learning community; organized; good written and oral communication skills; willingness to serve on school- and District-wide teams and committees; ability to work collaboratively with teachers, other professionals, community agencies, parents, and students; flexible; high level of enthusiasm; ability to perform psychoeducational assessment and evaluation of students; knowledgeable and skilled in conducting functional behavioral assessments and developing positive behavior intervention plans/supports for atypical behaviors; and proactive in the application of evidence-based practices in school settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will: Assist students in managing emotional and behavioral problems through counseling and consulting and work with teachers, parents, and administrators in implementing appropriate interventions. Other responsibilities of the school psychologist are to improve academic competence, social and emotional functioning, develop family-school partnerships, improve classroom learning and instruction, and assist in providing school-based child and family mental health services for all learners. The psychologist will also administer diagnostic assessments; evaluate effectiveness of academic and behavior management programs; use evidence-based research to develop and/or recommend effective interventions; and serve on school-based intervention teams as needed.
