Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, IL) is seeking a part-time (.3 FTE) Music Teacher and Assistant Band Director for the 2019-2020 school year.

The teacher in this position will serve as a part-time teacher and a part-time paraprofessional in the Music Department

Description:
Stevenson High School is located in the Village of Lincolnshire, Illinois. With an enrollment of over 4300 students, Stevenson offers comprehensive experiences for its students through academic rigor, co-curricular offerings, athletics and the Arts. The Fine Arts program consist of curricular course offerings in Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Music Production, Piano, Guitar, Dance, Theatre, and Art.

The Stevenson Band program has over 400 students active in six full-credit band classes. The ensembles have a long tradition of quality and maintain a high profile within the school community. The curriculum philosophy includes emphasis on music theory and comprehensive musicianship in all ensemble classes. Members of all six bands perform in the [non-competing] marching band as part of the students' course requirements.

Stevenson's three band directors share conducting responsibilities in a team-teaching arrangement across the six concert band classes. This will be an added 4th position to assist the program with its continued growth. There are two directors assigned to each band class.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Co-teaching one of the curricular band class, teach Piano & Arts Survey - SpEd Collaborative Music Class, assist with administrative duties associated with a comprehensive band program, teach sectionals in several of our curricular band classes, assist with individual performance assessments & auditions and supervision assignments within the music department.

Band directors assist with our marching band during a two week summer camp in August. Additional stipends may be available for work with one of our co-curricular ensembles.

Qualifications:
Illinois Professional Educator Licesene (PEL) with Music endorsement required.
