Health & Physical Education Teacher Vacancy

(Annual Contract with Benefits for the 2018 - 2019 School Year Only)

Kempsville High School is seeking a highly motivated and student centered candidate to teach Health & Physical Education for the remainder of the 2018 - 2019 school year only. Candidates applying to this position must be hold the full Health & Physical Education PreK - 12 endorsement which covers all Health & Physical Education courses offered at the high school level.

Candidates who have earned a BA/BS Degree in Health & Physical Education from an accredited college or university are also elible to apply for this position based on being eligible for a VA Provisional License to teach Health & Physical Education. The person hired for this position will be hired on an Annual Contract with benefits for the remainder of the 2018 - 2019 school year only.

Under direction of the school principal:
  • Plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students
  • Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student
  • Supervise students in a variety of school related settings
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes
  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
  • Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices
  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.

Three professional references are required when applying for employment with VBCPS. One of the three references must be an administrator supervisory reference. Relatives are not eligible to complete a reference for you when applying for positions with VBCPS.

Additional Job Information
Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
Must have or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education.
