Are you a dedicated teacher interested in spending four weeks with small groups of students in the content areas of literacy and math? Elementary Summer Academy is looking for teachers like you! Our program will provide support services for students in the areas of literacy and math.
As a teacher in the Summer Academy, you will work with a team of teachers to plan, instruct, and progress monitor small groups of students. All teachers will benefit from time set aside prior to the program dedicated to professional development and planning, access to building resources like grade-level libraries, daily plan time, smaller class sizes, and chances to collaborate with amazing colleagues.
Expectations:
Valid elementary certification or specifies content area certification
Use Clayton Standards of Practice
Instructional practice, student work expectations and grading requirements that align with school year
Instruction based on district curriculum
Progress monitoring and analysis of growth during instructional program
Parent communication before and during the program
PD day attendance prior to summer program
Commitment to full length of program (4 weeks)
Collegial collaboration
Willingness to teach multi-age groups
Specifics of how classes will be arranged will be discussed during interviews.
