The Administrative Assistant, is under the supervision of and may perform duties for the Director of Compliance & Training in the Office of Student Protections & Title IX.

The Administrative Assistant, will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining compliance documentation related to trainings and other requirements.

  • Assist with communications to school staff and district offices regarding trainings, other requests, and new updates from our office regarding policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.

  • Assist with registration and attendance processes for attendees required to attend trainings, including assisting attendees with initial enrollment and rescheduling, as needed.

  • Manage the production of training materials (e.g. handouts, binders, group activity materials, etc.) from established content for training attendees.

  • Assist with distributing materials for small group breakouts during training sessions, as needed.

  • Manage the logistics, setup, and takedown processes for training sessions held throughout the district.

  • Manage calendar scheduling and the production of any needed documents (e.g. agendas, handouts) for meetings to be held by the director and other staff.

  • Assist with entering data, creating new data sets, and drafting handouts.

  • Perform other duties as they might be assigned.



This position is of a confidential nature and has regular access to Office of Student Protections and TItle IX, Law Department and other CPS Departments' confidential files, data and information, including confidential student information.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Compliance and Training Administrative Assistant must possess the following qualifications:

Type of Education Required :

  • B.A. or B.S. preferred.



Type of Experience and Number of Years :

  • A minimum of three (3) years previous administrative work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge and experience working with Google applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Ability to remain detail-oriented while balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to keep matters confidential and understand what can be and cannot be disclosed.

  • Ability to occasionally across the city, as needed, to support with trainings and other meetings.



Residency Requirement:

As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of his or her CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district.
