Andover Public Schools seek applications from accomplished middle school principals to oversee the educational and social development of approximately 500 students and to provide instructional leadership and mentoring to 80 faculty and staff members. The West Middle School community offers a true middle school approach in which teachers work in teams to provide student-centered learning. West Middle School prides itself on a culture of inclusion and mutual respect, high academic achievement for all students, and active parent participation and community involvement.
Successful candidates will be licensed in Massachusetts as a middle school principal and have significant experience as a teacher and administrator. Candidates should be able to demonstrate success in the areas of: fidelity to a middle school model; faculty implementation of innovative, project-based, and inclusive instructional strategies; the development of a school community that is positive, respectful, and inclusive of all students; and the ability to use data to improve instruction. Candidates should have experience in social-emotional learning, cultural proficiency, and service learning.
