Description
The School Operations Specialist performs and/or oversees various aspects of school operations with an emphasis compliance activities at all levels, internal and external to the K12 organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required; other duties may be assigned. • Develops and manages relationships with educational systems vendors, the districts, State and other education stakeholders;
• Oversees and helps maintain student records and data; creates/implements/documents processes that ensure student data validity in K12 and 3rd party databases;
• Acts as point-of-contact and manages reporting issues including all local, State , and federal reporting requirements;
• Works with administrative staff to ensure the school is in compliance with and meets all audit requirements;
• Oversees communication between the Company and districts related to student enrollments and withdrawals;
• Oversees all student reporting requirements both locally and to the State ;
• Manages school registration as well as end-of-year reclamation efforts;
• Supports data and logistics of annual standardized testing;
• Supervises office staff within the enrollment and records departments and assists with personnel support issues occasionally.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2 - 5 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree AND
• Three (3) years of relevant professional experience OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQURIED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Great organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, MSWord, and Outlook
• Strong technology skills
• Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
• Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass required background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Formal project management experience in fast-paced or start-up environment
• Knowledge of California's regulations that impact charter schools
• EOE and drug-free workplace
