The School Age Enrichment programs seek dedicated professionals to be part of our collaborative community. Must be highly flexible, reliable, love students, believe in positive reinforcement, and have strong supervision skills.

ABOUT THE JOB

    Position is located at Sheridan Green Elementary (Westminster, CO) with the Before & After School Program (School Age Enrichment) This position will be year round until August, 2019 For the school year starting August, 2019, this will be a 9 month prorated, benefited position with monthly compensation from $2,474.83 - $3,162.42, based on education and experience Shifts may vary but are generally Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 10:30 am and 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm during the school year, with straight 8 hour shifts during the 2019 summer program Resume is highly recommended for Assistant Director and Director positions with our progam Please apply to only one SACC (SAE) location per position type, as hiring for our program is managed centrally

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the District School Age Enrichment Program to meet District and Colorado Department of Human Services expectations and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned the SAE Coordinators and/or Administrator.

Responsible for managing and maintaining daily operations of Before and After School Program. Including but not limited to formal attendance, enrollment/registration process, ensure daily safety of children, appropriate staff-to-child ratio and effectively handling student discipline.

Manage all financial aspects of the program including: billing and collection of tuition, building use requests, (CCAP) Child Care Assistance Program billing, budget, and financial reports.

Responsible for understanding, implementing and maintaining all District, SAE, Colorado Department of Human Services and Health Department policies and procedures, including all required licensing expectations.

Maintain required certification and training as required by District and State childcare laws, such as CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, etc.

Supervise and train site staff. Communicate necessary staff development opportunities and certification requirements (CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, 15 clock hours, etc.).

Ensure that all staff and student files are current, complete and meet State licensing requirements.

Administer performance evaluations for staff.

Establish and maintain open, collaborative and supportive relationships with all staff, children, parents and SAE Central Office. Establish collaborative working relationships with elementary school staff. Lead by example to foster team work and act with integrity to maintain a professional work environment.

Coordinate and implement age-appropriate activities for students. Engage students in enrichment activities, games, field trips, and homework.

Ensure site has all necessary materials and supplies as needed which includes shopping and following District and SAE purchasing policies and procedures.

Communicate program information and respond to phone calls, e-mails and written correspondence. Attend and participate in assigned meetings.

Secure building, equipment, and program per District and department guidelines. Ensure areas and equipment used by program are cleaned and maintained.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent..

EXPERIENCE Previous working experience in before and after school program, and knowledge of Colorado Department of Human Services licensing rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS Must be 21 years old and meet one of the following criteria:
A four year college degree, with a major such as recreation, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in the human service field.

Two years of college training and 6 months of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care and supervision of 4 or more children.

Three years of satisfactory and verifiable full time or equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience since attaining the age of 18 in the care of 4 or more children. If employee meets this qualification, employee must complete 6 semester hours, 9 quarter hours in course work from a regionally accredited college or university or 40 clock hours of training in course work applicable to school age children within the first 9 months of employment.

Must be available to work both morning and afternoon shifts (Monday-Friday).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, (ability to move tables and other furniture to set up site program), climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can not always be anticipated. Ability to meet physical needs of students.
