The Payroll Administrator, Level 3 performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Duties may include checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records, posting changes in tax status, and miscellaneous changes.

AS A PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR, LEVEL 3, YOU WILL..
  • Computes wage and overtime payments;
  • Calculates and records payroll deductions and processes terminations; Performs data entry for all time and attendance and personnel transactions such as new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc.; Records vendor transactions including, flexible spending, Deferred Compensation, etc.;
  • Calculates State and Federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations; Performs gross-to-net calculation, audit and balancing;
  • Maintains various State teacher retirement programs; Maintains and reconciles company's Deferred Compensation;
  • Processes garnishments and levies;
  • Prepares and maintains standard and ad hoc reports, and queries; Conducts appropriate audits to ensure data integrity;
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records; documents workflow and work procedures;
  • Helps identify opportunities and contribute to continuous process improvements with an emphasis on innovation and automation.
  • Knowledgeable in setting up new tax withholding accounts in new taxing jurisdictions.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree or equivalent training and education beyond high school AND
  • Five (5) years of payroll experience AND
  • Three (3) years as an expert Excel user with knowledge of vlookup and pivot tables OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Understanding of payroll procedures and legislation
  • Knowledge of Ohio STRS and SERS programs
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong computing skills, including Excel, time and attendance databases and payroll software
  • Ability to pass background check requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and three (3) years of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Ultimate Software HR and Payroll system
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
