Primary Coordinator (Curriculum) - Shanghai - August 2019

An experienced Curriculum Coordinator is needed at this very high quality bilingual international school in Shanghai from August 2019. Part of a larger international school group, this school has excellent facilities and uses the Shanghai curriculum blended with international / IB PYP to offer a whole child education. The school has world class facilities including a pool, theatre, gym, science and design laboratories and more. Western teachers and Chinese teachers co-teach in this cooperative learning environment. This post is a 50% teaching and 50% curriculum coordinating structure. The school takes a holistic approach to every child"s learning and school experience, aiming to develop students intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually. This includes a variety of stimulating, challenging and fun learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom that develop the 6Cs.

Applicants must have at least 6-7 years of post-qualification teaching experience in a stable teaching environment. They should also have a degree in a relevant/specialist subject area, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent & a Masters degree, CLIL experience and QTS in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, USA. The school seek candidates who have demonstrated success in leading or participating in curriculum development, a minimum of 4 years" experience in teaching inquiry-based learning (or PYP curriculum) within Elementary schools, previous leadership experience, previous international experience and experience in teaching EAL/ELL students. Creative and effective use of resources, including education technology, the ability to maintain student focus and active engagement on learning, positive management of behaviour, strong, clear communication and listening skills, being adaptable to varying contexts and an enthusiasm for working with Chinese colleagues and parents are also essential qualities.

The school offers a generous remuneration package and assistance with visa and medical checks required on entry to China. The package includes salary, international medical insurance, accommodation, annual airfare allowance, allowances for spouses and dependants, including school fees for up to two children.
