Goals: To improve student achievement by developing a guaranteed and viable curriculum that is aligned with state or national standards and 21 st century adaptive skills.
To provide teachers with the support and opportunity to write curriculum and assessments that will enhance the teaching and learning of students. Role Curriculum and Assessment Writer Description Writers adhere to the given design criteria to develop units, curriculum maps, and summer pre and post assessments for use by summer teacher of a particular course.

Writers must be able to work with other vibrate, positive thinking and motivated teachers to modify and develop a current cross curricula map in English, Math, Science and Art(digital) that is aimed towards one common culminating project. The plans will be delivered to students during the summer of 2019. Ideal candidates include individuals that can commit to both spring planning and teaching over the 5-week summer program(June 17 to July 22, Monday through Thursday).

Qualifications Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
Knowledge and experience in effective curriculum writing
Attention to Detail and ability to self-monitor for accuracy and completion Expectations
  • Curriculum and/or assessment projects for the Proviso STEAM 5-week summer program will be comprised of one teacher from each discipline (Science, Math, English and Art(digital).Team will develop a 5-week cross -curriculum map to be delivered over the summerTeams must create a work plan that outlines how the work will be accomplished and by whom. Teams may work at locations of their choice (Writing does not have to occur at school sites).Teams will follow the design criteria for curriculum maps and use the templates provided by the District.Team will collaborate with other team members to solicit feedback on units and assessments as the work progresses.Team will create pre and post assessment to evaluate knowledge learnedTeam will identify potential field trips aimed at furthering students' knowledge of materialTeam will collaborate in effort to build a rapport with one anotherTeams will update progress every two weeks using the links provided via email and/or attend face-to face check-ins with Office of Academics during designated times.Stipends will be processed after the project has been approved by the District Review Team.

Compensation $2410 to be split evenly among all approved writers.
