Program Aide, Promise Academy II After-School (Grades K-5)

HCZ Promise Academy II After-School is seeking a Program Aide. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the mission of Promise Academy and HCZ, an understanding and respect for the culture of all residents of Harlem, and experience working in a school setting with a love for children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with Student Advocates regarding the progress of participants in their group/program
• Facilitate workshops, trainings, and activities
• Embody the principles of youth development
• Develop and submit weekly lesson plans for their group
• Host meetings with students to generate new ideas for the program
• Provide a safe environment for youth
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or is attending college
• Some experience working with students and/or at-risk youth
• Adhere to HCZ's mission statement and principles of youth development
• Must be able to engage and motivate students
