- Serves as the special education teacher for assigned studentsDevelops and implements IEPs including transition plans, accommodations and goalsPlans lessons and prepares instructional materialsPresents lessons effectivelyProvides for differences of individuals and groupsEvaluates student achievement effectivelyInteracts with students in a manner that encourages respectful relationships among students and teachersDemonstrates positive interpersonal relations with staffWorks cooperatively with school personnel (Directors, Student Services staff, Deans) to benefit studentsCommunicates effectively with parents to enhance the learning process by responding to or initiating parent contacts in a timely, professional and constructive mannerExecutes Board of Education and building policies and proceduresUses appropriate channels to resolve concerns and problems
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I endorsement
