    Director of Talent Management

    ROLE SUMMARY
    At Cincinnati Public Schools, we strive to attract and develop the most talented educators, support staff and administrators in the nation, all connected by a shared belief in and commitment to each and every one of our students.
    We are in the process of building a talent strategy that will support our Great People vision, and we are seeking a Director of Talent Management who will take ownership of creating and executing key components of this important new strategy. This includes the unique opportunity to design, build and lead a new Talent Department at Cincinnati Public Schools that will collaborate closely with Human Resources. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent.

    The ideal candidate will be a change agent who brings broad and complete understanding of Talent Management functions, including the tools and processes associated with talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, career pathing, and extensive experience in Executive & Leadership Coaching, along with a track record of partnering successfully with senior leadership to deliver results. The ideal candidate will possess both a deep commitment to developing people and real passion for the work of Cincinnati Public Schools: preparing students to live and work in a world shaped by them.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    The responsibilities of the Director of Talent Management include, but are not limited to:
    • Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent, senior leadership team and HR to drive a comprehensive talent management agenda and operational plans.
    • Maintain strong relations with departmental leaders to ensure that talent management processes and practices are in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Define and implement a strategic workforce planning framework and process, determining what gaps exist between the current and projected workforce needs in the short-term and long-term and creating plans to address gaps.
    • Coach managers at all levels of the organization on issues regarding organizational effectiveness, team building, leadership development, and employee communications.
    • Enhance the organization-wide strategy for recruiting, selecting and onboarding a high quality and diverse workforce. Develop a targeted recruiting process that can be applied to key roles.
    • Build an organization-wide learning strategy, collaborating with key stakeholders to identify or develop training and development programs that foster the organizational expertise needed to maximize employee effectiveness.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and culture within the organization, developing and leading a culture strategy that contributes to a positive, high performing organizational culture.
    • Oversee continuous improvement of an effective performance review system, which links individual performance to organizational outcomes, values and core competencies.
    • Manage the implementation of an incentive system, partnering with senior leadership team to determine annual salary increases, promotions and other compensation decisions.
    • Lead succession planning process and talent reviews, identifying high-potential employees and emerging leaders and supporting the development of career plans.
    • Measure and monitor the effectiveness of talent programs to ensure investments are delivering a strong return.
    • Manage the department's budget and multiple employees within the Talent Department.

    • Flexible and collaborative, with the ability to change, adapt and grow.
    • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and time-management skills necessary.
    • Strong project management and operational experience.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree; degree in HR or related field preferred
    • At least 10 years of progressive HR or Talent leadership experience, with significant focus in talent management, including the development and execution of high-level talent strategy, talent acquisition, professional and leadership development.
    • Significant management experience; this position will have multiple direct reports.


    CONTRACT PROVISIONS

    Type of Contract: 261 day limited

    Salary: Director 1 per CAAS agreement
