POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversee complete management of multiple projects from both an office and field perspective by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees and/or consultants to ensure that all projects are within standards of APS. This position will be in conjunction with SPLOST funding. Please Note: This is a year-to-year position based on funding and the salary maximum is listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Supervises and coordinates all related activities associated with the management of the planning, programming, design, and construction of multiple projects.
  • Monitors progress of project by reviewing design documents, work-in-progress, and conducting field inspections and adjusts project plan, as needed. Communicates project status, changes, needs, etc. in a timely and effective manner to appropriate individuals.
  • Studies plans and specifications to coordinate construction on the basis of starting and completion times and to be able to validate offered schedules. Provides problem solving and value engineering services to maximize efficiency and profits.
  • Complete contract(s) for execution by owner, architect, and /or contractor. Administer all aspects of the contract through project completion and close out.
  • Prepares technical reports, design scenarios, and cost estimates for various school projects to determine feasibility and options.
  • Ensure the appropriate allocation of resources and support for the project including staff, consultants, equipment, etc.
  • Attends and conducts committee meetings, community meetings, and conducts periodic progress meetings on-site. Provides meeting minutes to all attendees accordingly.
  • Conduct pay application review meetings, determine the appropriateness of a change order, review and approve change orders, and provide monthly budget review vs. actual and anticipated costs. Resolves problems as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure timely receipt of all project deliverables including close-out documentation and ensures proper distribution and provide timely reviews and approvals, as required.
  • Assigns duties and responsibilities to staff.
  • Administer and/or support the state and local standardized testing processes and policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Able to apply, recommend, and implement basic technology concepts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a work group.
  • Must be well-versed in office management software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Must be well-verse in project management and project controls software.


Requirements: EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required (construction related field, engineering, architecture, etc.)
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of comparable experience


Compensation: SALARY GRADE: 129
SALARY RANGE: $59, 649 to $85, 744
WORK DAYS: 254 days (Annual)

FLSA Status: Exempt
