The Role:

We are seeking a principal who leads with empathy, shares the district values and demonstrates creativity, collaboration, and compassion. The Principal should have high academic expectations for all students, be firmly committed to equity and inclusion, and uphold the concept of school as a place of community, partnership, and relationships. The Principal should have a strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, experience in data collection and analysis, commitment to professional development for self and educators, be able to effectively engage with families and the surrounding community, and lead with a high degree of emotional intelligence.

 

The Meadow Brook School principal is responsible for:

•ensuring the safety and well-being of students; •fostering shared leadership within the school community •building strong family partnerships; •selecting, hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff in accordance with district policies, administering the school budget; and •overseeing the school building and its operations and activities. 

 

As our school community is diversifying at an increased pace, the Principal should be prepared to create a foundation of equity, anti-racism, and culturally relevant learning experiences that cultivate a safe and welcoming school community.  Additionally, the Principal is a member of the District Leadership Team, which provides administrators opportunities to collaborate to ensure equitable programming and experiences for all of our students-- preschool to 12th grade.

 

Other responsibilities include: 

•Fostering a culture of high academic standards and excellence in teaching and learning.

•Ensuring the smooth daily operations of the school.

•Leading the development and implementation of the school SMART Goals and action plan.

•Facilitate the evaluation, selection, and implementation of evidence-based curriculum. 

•Maintaining effective culturally-responsive communication with parents/caregivers. 

•Implementing structures (such as collaborative planning time) to advance professional learning for teachers and other staff members •Investigating partnership opportunities with community organizations •Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
