The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the development, organization and direction of the human resources department of the school district. In addition he/she is responsible for staffing/recruiting/orientation, compensation and benfits administration, employee relations, discussions/negotiations, grievance processing and training in areas related to personnel issues. The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources is also responsible for reduction in force/reorganization/terminations, unemployment compensation, worker's compensation and compliance with all human resource Board Policies and Procedures.
The candidate should have experience with recruiting, hiring and retention of staff. They should have experience in the collective bargaining processes. They should demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills as well as outstanding communication skills. The Board reserves the option to set alternative qualifications to the above list.
The candidate must pocess a Masters Degree and/or Illinois Type 75 License. They should also have a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in school human resource supervision and management. Preferably candidates will also have teaching experience.
