FARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
The Farmington Public Schools are seeking a dynamic educational leader for the position of Principal for Farmington High School. The Principal is part of the central office leadership team, committed to creating a learning environment that supports continuous school improvement and enables the school district’s 4,300 students to meet world class standards. The Principal is responsible for the total operation of the school in accordance with the policies and regulations prescribed by the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools and is responsible for the delivery of instruction, supervision, in-service, and scheduling.
• Candidates must possess or be eligible for State of Connecticut certification - Intermediate Administration (092).
• Candidates must be prepared academically in the field of educational leadership with coursework and/or experiences in teacher evaluation and supervision, school improvement, and curriculum and instruction.
• Candidates should have strong curriculum background and deep knowledge of student –centered instructional practices.
• Focused consideration will be given to references indicating exceptional teaching, administrative and leadership expertise; a collaborative orientation to problem solving; college and graduate school grades; various life/work experiences that contribute to overall qualifications; strong interpersonal communication skills, planning, organizing and budgeting skills.
• Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead the implementation of a visionary set of Design Team recommendations that will frame school development planning in the coming years.
• Experience as a building principal or school leader with similar scope of responsibility is required.
Salary Range: $137,563 — $148,829
( A very competitive fringe benefit package will also be offered including a stipend of $2,000 for Ph.D./Ed.D. and $3,900 matching annuity.)
