Polk County Public Schools, located in central Florida, seeks an exceptional leader to serve more than 97,000 PreK-12 students and more than 13,000 staff members. This candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to high educational standards in public education, a sensitivity towards the needs of a culturally diverse district, and the ability to involve all segments of the community to secure partnerships, support, and confidence in public schools. Master's degree or equivalent required with Doctorate preferred. Minimum of 10 years of administrative or supervisory experience with at least five years senior-level experience in a school district with at least 25,000 students or a comparatively-sized government/business organization. Background check mandated by Florida Statute 1012.3. Salary range: $210,000 to $260,000 annually plus a benefits package. The successful candidate is expected to start on or before the first week in July 2013.
