The Director of Student Personnel Services is a 12-month position with a salary to be offered in accordance with the salary and appraisal program for district administrators.  The base salary range will be $121,000 - $128,000, which includes the full contribution to the Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois (TRS).  An additional merit stipend may be earned for the achievement of goals as awarded by the D207 Administrative Performance Appraisal Program.

Candidates shall possess a Master’s degree or higher and have the required certification at the time of application or present evidence that the certification will be completed on or June 30, 2013.  Such certification must include a Type 75 administrative certificate.

It is expected that the candidate will present a record of successful experiences that indicate potential for outstanding performance in those responsibilities as listed in the current job description of Director of Student Personnel Services as included in District 207 Board of Education policy.  Those responsibilities include: 

  • Provide high quality leadership to coordinate and improve the support services provided to students. 
  • Supervise and evaluate the activities of the counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses and specific support personnel as assigned by the Principal. 
  • Direct the orientation and matriculation of students who are entering and leaving high school. 
  • Supervise the registration process and appropriate placements including special programs and services. 
  • Supervise the preparation of materials and programs necessary for educational planning and registration of students. 
  • Verify residency and guardianship 
  • Serve as the Section 504 coordinator. 
  • Supervise and act as custodian of all student records. 
  • Organize and supervise testing programs. 
  • Organize and lead the Building Core Team and the Building Referral Committee. 
  • Lead and serve on building administrators leadership team to provide knowledge and expertise relative to school initiatives, Professional Learning Communities and the School Improvement Plan.
  • Provide leadership, knowledge and expertise in social/emotional/behavioral and academic interventions and strategies (RtI, positive behavioral supports, etc.).
  • Perform all other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Principal.
