Under the direction of the Technology Integration Services Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for managing provision of services to clients in a specific geographical area of the region (Huntsville, AL). This position provides high quality direction, oversight, and coordination for services to clients at all levels.

 

The Project Manager must live in Huntsville, AL for the duration of the Term of Project (March 1, 2013-February 28, 2015).  Possible relocation package available.

 

 

1. Coordinate delivery of comprehensive job-embedded professional development and technical support for schools implementing Pearson’s Professional Development Services (PD Services) and related Pearson School Achievement Services solutions, including:

 

  • Planning personnel assignments
  • Monitoring service delivery and assuring delivery of high quality professional development and technical support related to the 1:1 Initiative in Hunstville, AL
  • Aligning PD Services and related Pearson SAS solutions with relevant state and district initiatives
  • Maintaining a high profile in client engagement

 

These professional development and job-embedded services include:

 

  • Facilitation of Planning Meetings with school and district leadership that establishes Pearson’s partnership with the schools and initiates the process of implementation
  • Facilitation of face-to-face professional development for school leadership, faculty, and support staff per stated contracts or implementation plans
  • Facilitation of onsite strategic planning and review meetings with the district administrative team
  • Facilitation of Leadership Team Implementation Meetings, and co-facilitation of such meetings with district administration to discuss implementation and resolve problems.
  • Facilitation of Progress Monitoring meetings to determine the progress the district is making in implementing PD Services
  • Provision of technical support for the effective delivery of services by the consulting team
  • Provision of instructional support, including modeling, coaching, and co-planning
  • Collaboration with other consultants in the delivery of job-embedded services
  • Maintenance of comprehensive documentation and reports of service

 

2. Build and maintain communication and collaboration with local and district school officials

 

  • Initiate and hold meetings with the superintendent and other key officials in the district and state department to assure strong connectivity of Pearson SAS programs and services; resolve problems that arise
  • Meet regularly onsite with school principals and staffs

 

3. Provide leadership and mentorship for assigned staff

 

  • Facilitate regular opportunities for staff collaboration

 

4. Maintain current knowledge of:

 

  • PD Services components and related SAS solutions
  • The Common Core State Standards and related assessments, and, where necessary, standards and assessments established by the district and state in which service is being provided
  • Developments in standards-aligned curriculum, instruction and assessment in English language arts and/or math
  • Techology integration frameworks and initiatives in the state and district in which service is being provided

Qualifications:

 

  • Project management experience focused on service or implementation delivery
  • Master's Degree or higher, focus on educational technology
  • At least 3 years successful experience as a principal, staff developer (digital as well as face to face) or other district administrator in implementing technology initiatives
  • Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher using various forms of technology and at least five years of successful experience as a K-12 professional
  • Ability to provide leadership in a collaborative setting
  • Experience with Elementary Pearson programs including ReadingStreet, Envision Math, Interactive Science, MyWorld Social Studies, SuccessMaker; or
  • Experience with Secondary Pearson programs including PH Lit, Digits, PH Algebra (and other PH math titles), Write to Learn or Writing Coach, Science curriculum, Social Studies curriculum

 

 

  • Experience with the application of multimedia to online and face-to-face workshops
  • Experience with application of technology in K-12 classroom environment
  • Experience using interactive software and hardware in the classroom

 

  • Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, instruction instruction and assessment
    • Ability to provide strategic guidance to school and district leadership on achieving school improvement goals
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Strong planning and problem solving skills
    • Strong skills in data analysis
    • Knowledge of and the ability to function with various school and district organizational structures
    • Excellent ability to present content to large and small groups
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Willingness to travel and provide onsite logistical support

    DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

    • Extensive experience with various technology hardware and applications, including desktops, laptops,  Microsoft Office suite applications; wireless devices (e.g., wireless laptops, tablets, student response systems, etc.); Web page authoring applications, and interactive whiteboards
    • Certification with Promethean is preferred
    • Preferred experience with Pearson digital & Adobe products

 

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of cognitive learning theories as applied to adult learning experiences
  • Knowledge of effective professional development practices
  • Knowledge of ISTE NETS standards
