Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in N.W. Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, seeks an innovative, seasoned professional to assume primary administrative responsibility and leadership for all aspects of operational management and ensure the integrity of its fiscal policies, programs and practices.

The Chief Financial Officer supervises an administrative structure that includes the finance, human resources, auxiliary and summer programs, food service, buildings and grounds, and security operations of the School. Some specific responsibilities also include risk management, employee salaries and benefits, compliance with federal and state regulations, preparation of the annual budget, and development of a sustainable, multi-year financial model capable of ensuring the fiscal stability of the institution.

The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with a clear vision of the role of finance in realizing institutional objectives and priorities. An outstanding communicator and problem solver, he/she will have proven experience in managing change while demonstrating a dedication to community, collaboration, and equity. The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with the Board of Trustees, serving as liaison to the Board finance, investment and audit committees.

An MBA or CPA and a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible senior management experience in a complex, preferably academic, environment are required. Position begins July 1, 2013. Send resume, cover letter and contact information for three references to: HR@sidwell.edu
