Join the Office of K-12 Outreach in their mission to improve Michigan's K-12 schools.
Assist with the coordination and content development focused on young African American & Hispanic males in the K-12 educational system. Assist with the development, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of outreach service programs offered by the Office of K-12 Outreach.
Master's degree required: Suggested fields: Education, Social Work, Sociology, or similar fields.
Skills: Deep understanding and research relating to the racial achievement gap; working knowledge of family dynamics in African American & Hispanic families; experience working in underserved communities; history of mentoring students; success in effectively engaging young African American & Hispanic males and evoking educational improvement in the target audience; strong oral and written communication skills; aptitude for working in challenging environments.
