Saudi Aramco teachers provide professional classroom instruction at the elementary and/or middle school level (grades PreK – ninth grade). They may specialize in and teach one or more academic subjects or specialty areas or teach the full range of subjects in elementary classrooms. May serve as a team leader for other teachers of a given grade level or subject area. Provides professional expertise in curriculum development/design. Candidates must have the ability to lead a teaching team or work in an individualized teaching structure. Incumbent is a recognized leader; provides assistance to Teacher III and direction to Teacher Aides based on experience and professional abilities. Able to have frequent communication with other faculty, administration, staff, specialists and students to coordinate activities, exchange information, resolve problems, and perform assigned duties. They are also required to have regular and frequent contact with parents of students to evaluate progress, make recommendations, and resolve problems. Job functions: Teaches academic, social, physical and other skills, on an individual or group basis, to children on Aramco employees. Instructs students in subject matter, prepares teaching outlines, assigns lessons, hears oral presentations, and corrects homework and in-class assignments. Administers assessment instruments to evaluate students progress and prepares reports of progress; discusses pupils academic and behavior problems with parents and suggests remedial action. Keeps classroom records. Maintains discipline in the classroom and on school grounds. Works closely with school administration and education specialists to design curriculum, promote innovative classroom methods and to plan and coordinate teacher training workshops. Adheres to established procedures and regulations of Saudi Aramco Schools. Receives general administrative supervision and evaluation from the Principal. Average number of students per teacher is 20 (K-3), 23 (4-6), 25 (7-9); 125 in classroom under incumbents influence. Throughout the year, professional growth and development opportunities are available to all staff members. Faculty members are encouraged to continue their professional education through college credit courses and professional conferences. In-service training is provided in best practices which support the curriculum and promote student learning.
Education: Candidates must have a Masters degree with specialization in area appropriate to subject/grade assigned and a North American teaching credential in area appropriate to subjects and levels. Experience: At least six years full-time experience, which can include four years teaching and two years job-related experience. Must have an excellent command of oral and written English. Teachers of foreign language must have fluency in language taught. Candidates with a Bachelors degree, a valid North American teaching credential and three years teaching experience can be considered for a Teacher III (GC 10) position by down-grading this requisition.

The Saudi Aramco Schools 175 day calendar begins in September and ends in June. It is divided into three trimesters of approximately twelve weeks each. The schedule conforms to the Company and the national Saudi Arabian workweek. Company and national holidays are observed.
