Job Descriptiontop

The elementary school principal provides leadership for the improvement of the total educational program within the school. As such, the principal serves as the chief building administrator and educational leader of the school. Supervises a faculty including approximately 55 teachers and support staff serving 250-350 students. The candidate must hold, or be eligible to hold, the Type 75 Administrative Certificate from the State of Illinois. Three years of successful teaching or related certified staff experience is required, preferably at the elementary school level. Previous experience as an elementary principal and with language immersion programming is desirable. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a history of partnering with school constituencies in roles of increasing responsibility.
