Assistant Professor of Reading
The Department of Reading at the University at Albany invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor, with a start date of September 1, 2013. Preferred qualifications include (1) experience and interest in graduate level teaching and expertise in areas such as literacy teaching and learning, literacy policy, ELL, media literacy, (2) using and teaching quantitative approaches to literacy research, (3) experience in teaching in the elementary, middle, or high school grades, and (4) experience in or strong potential for obtaining grants to fund research. This position entails teaching graduate courses on campus and online, advising graduate students, directing doctoral research and independent study, and maintaining a successful program of research and publication.
