The SAU #39 School Board, representing the towns of Amherst and Mont Vernon, NH, announces an outstanding leadership opportunity—Superintendent of Schools—effective July 1, 2018. The Board seeks an experienced, innovative, community-minded educational leader with excellent communication and management skills who has demonstrated success in improving student achievement.


  • Experience as an Educator preferred
  • NH Superintendent Certification (0001) or a Statement of Eligibility in NH required
  • 3-5 years of Leadership Experience required
  • CAGS required; Doctorate in Administration desired

The Communities: 
The attractive towns of Amherst and Mont Vernon provide their own elementary schools and share the Amherst Middle and Souhegan High Schools. SAU 39, serving as the central office to the schools, is located at the historic Brick School on the Amherst green. Mont Vernon and Amherst are located in south-central NH, offering proximity to the cultural and recreational activities of New England. School Administrative Unit #39 and its schools are governed by three District School Boards and one SAU Board.

Salary and Benefits:
The SAU 39 Board is offering a multi-year contract with a strong benefits package and a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $145,000.
