The CAO has primary authority and accountability for the academic performance and management of all BPS schools, providing leadership, vision and strategic direction for the district’s curriculum & instruction and school improvement initiatives.
-Reports to the Superintendent and sits on executive leadership team.
-Provides supports and leadership to improve student results and narrow the achievement gap.
-Leverages deep experience in design and implementation of best curriculum and instructional practices in an urban public school district.
-Leverages data to inform strategic direction for and develops and monitors accountability systems.
-Collaborates and fosters relationships with internal and external stakeholders including: BPS departments, teachers, school leaders, parents, community agencies, local universities, research laboratories.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s or doctorate degree in education. Hold or eligible to hold appropriate Massachusetts licenses. Ten or more years school administrator experience. Requires Boston residency. BPS is accepting resumes. Please forward a thoughtful cover letter and resume to
