www.pcae.k12.mn.usPCAE is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Executive Director of Minnesota’s State Agency devoted to arts education. Serving K-12 schools, PCAE provides support and professional development to educators; develops assessment tools and standards for arts education; spearheads research, develops curricula, and designs models for delivering innovative education in and through the arts; provides grants for school and community partnerships; operates a high school with rigorous academic and arts programs for students statewide; and supports a statewide, public resource center/library.
Minimum Qualifications: Excellent leadership, human relations, and communication skills, including interpersonal communication and public speaking, with diverse audiences; demonstrated managerial ability that includes oversight of budgets and staff; a completed master’s degree in educational leadership, arts education, or a closely-related field; progressively responsible administrative experience in an educational and/or arts organization that demonstrates your ability to successfully perform the roles described above; and knowledge of, and/or interest in the arts. Preferred qualifications: a completed doctoral degree in educational leadership, arts education, or a related field; and experience directing an institution with strong relevance to K-12 arts education issues.
The successful candidate will be fortunate to work with a spirited and dedicated management team and staff of 88, an engaged board appointed by the Governor, a variety of critical internal and external stakeholders, and state leaders who understand the value of arts education in a global marketplace.
